Seems like BYD is like Ford was at the beginning, wanting to vertically integrate the whole supply chain within itself. That's how Ford revolutionized the car business in the early twentieth century. At least BYD provides many more models, and more than one colour. A combination of Ford and GM.
Hi, would you know where BYD is sourcing their automotive grade SiC substrates? Would they be getting them from local suppliers like TankeBlue or SICC or would they be getting automotive grade SiC from suppliers like WOLF or COHR through JVs with Sanan? Thank you!
they produce some of it by themselves. It's possible they source from other domestic suppliers. But longer term, they'd probably want to produce all the substrate internally. They have a pretty large SiC furnace order with Crystal Growth.

Wow!
Another great roundup. Thanks again!
I guarantee you that 99% of Westies interested in automotive news know nothing about what BYD is really doing.
